DUTIES

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a sessional faculty member who will teach one section of EDUC5990, Special Topics: Research Colloquium on Mondays and Wednedays, 11:30 am to 2:20 pm.

Calendar Description:

Special topics courses are offered on a temporary basis and are not part of the regular course offerings. This course utilizes the special expertise of a faculty member or a visiting professor to go beyond the usual curriculum and enrich the program of study. Contact the program advisor for information on current offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS

PhD or EdD is required, ABD will be considered.
A minimum of one (1) degree in education is required.
Expertise in K-12 education is required.
Three (3) years of full time or equivalent hours teaching in K-12 settings is required.
Evidence of successful teaching experience at the post-secondary level is strongly preferred.
Demonstration of subject matter expertise is required.
Evidence of substantial and recent engagement in the specific topic through peer-reviewed dissemination of research and/or the scholarship of teaching.
A successful and on-going record of research and/or the scholarship of teaching in the area is preferred
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills required.
Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62) required.
Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63) required.
Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10) required.

Pay Band

$2,575.50 - $2,575.50 ( Sessional Faculty - Academic (per credit) )
